After being with KPFK 6 years as an unpaid and then paid news producer, I want to give back by lending my voice and efforts to the governing body. I've worked hard to build impartial, yet passionate and supportive, relationships with the people I see regularly at the station. I think I have the clear-minded approach required to add something to the functionality of the LSB.
I would also be a news and outreach advocate. As the station considers new revenue sources to expand local news and outreach, I can share my views as a news worker on regular deadlines and as someone who has produced a high amount of internet content. I want to see our internet and radio formats integrated as well as KPCC's, but with our independent approach to programming.
I want to work with the LSB to create a streamlined volunteer training program. I've been personally training interns and volunteers for the past 3 years in the newsroom and I want to help build a stationwide news-centered volunteer program. |
